About the Author Karen Wallace

Wife of Don Wallace, mother of two children, and a first generation Italian-American, Karen has had a passion for the parent/child relationship as early as she can remember. Her relationship with her grandmother, Flora, gave her a deep appreciation for relationships no matter the age difference.

Karen has worked in play therapy and filial therapy in Wake County, North Carolina, helping parents connect with their children. She earned a Masters degree from Harvard University in Psychology in 1996: the subject of her thesis, the connection between object relations (the mental representations of a child’s first relationships), social support, social adjustment and health. In 1983, she received her B.S. in Biology from Boston College.

Raised in Romanism, she became a member of the Church of Christ while attending Boston College, and now is a member of the First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Durham, North Carolina (http://firstrpcdurham.org/, http://reformedvoice.com/trianglerpc). Karen is most thankful that God has led her into a covenant relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, and this relationship is her life.
